The Chicagoland Shetland Sheepdog Club, Inc. was organized over 50 years ago and incorporated in April of 1963.
The purpose of the club is to improve the breed and to further the education of breeders and of the general public. We continue to strive for excellence by presenting educational programs at meetings and holding seminars.
We also do fundraising so we can contribute to charitable dog organizations (i.e., Sheltie rescue, disaster relief, DNA research, etc.). Chicagoland Shetland Sheepdog Club is proud to be a 50 + year member club of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association.
Our members are mostly from the northern part of Illinois (with membership stretching from Chicago to Rockford and beyond) and the southeastern part of Wisconsin.
While most of our members are active in Conformation, Obedience, Agility, Herding, Rally, Therapy & Tracking, we do have members who have Shelties as pets or do not own any Shelties but love the breed and come to learn more.
The Chicagoland Shetland Sheepdog Club holds meetings approximately 7 times during the year and sometimes these meetings are in conjunction with a special function, such as our picnic meeting and our December Christmas party meeting. A schedule of our upcoming meetings can be found on our Meetings page.
Please check out the Events page for all details. We cordially invite you to attend. We have vendor booths, a fantastic raffle, and a huge luncheon both days for a small donation. The results of the current Specialty Shows can be found on our Show Results page.
Please look around our site, there's much to see, so enjoy your stay and come back soon! If you have any questions or comments, please contact our Corresponding Secretary who will direct your questions or comments to the proper party. You can find all contact information on our Contact Us Page.
